Vinnie Valentino

Our Board

  • Vinnie has been an NCCDF Board member since 2016. He is well-known in the county for his talent as a rock mason. Many high-end homes are graced with his artistry in their hearths and around their homes. He is an avid outdoorsman and loves to travel.

Woody Greenberg
  • Woody Greenberg has been a Board member since 1986. He is the Retired Dean of the School of Communication and the Arts at the  University of Lynchburg. He served as the East District Supervisor from 1990 to 1994. He also volunteers with the Nelson County Historical Society and the Nelson County Education Foundation. 

Victor Monti
  • Victor Monti is a community supporter in Nelson County. He served for 23 years in the Air Force, working and assisting with headquarters projects in and for the Pentagon. He moved to Nelson County in 2018. With a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Vassar College and a library master’s degree from Appalachian State University, Victor has served the county in various roles.

    Victor raised funds for the Grow Nelson County $0.5 million building campaign. He served on the Board of Vestry (Elders) of Trinity Episcopal Church in Arrington and continues, there, to raise funds for Nelson County Kids Care and a Haiti education mission and, also, to collect food for the Nelson County Pantry. He also volunteers at the Nelson County Senior Center and Rockfish Valley Community Center. For the last three years he has supported Virginia Organizing in its affordable housing activities.

Peggy Whitehead
  • After 26 years at Blue Ridge Medical Center, Peggy Whitehead retired from her role as CEO in 2017 and currently serves as a grant writer for that organization. She has been a board member at NCCDF since 2019. When she is not volunteering, she enjoys long-distance walking.

  • Connie has been an NCCDF Board member since 2019. She was a nurse-practitioner at UVA, a School Board Trustee, and the Central District representative on the Nelson Board of Supervisors for 16 years. She has served on numerous local, regional and state boards.

  • Born and raised in Albemarle county, Steve spent 10 years in the US Navy performing aviation maintenance.  From there he went on to manage facilities for several companies including an international pharmaceutical research company and large retail shopping centers.  Since 2014, Steve has been the Facilities and Asset Manager for JABA.

  • Nora is a dedicated community organizer born and raised in Nelson County. Through his work with Virginia Organizing, Nora empowers everyday people directly impacted by racial, social, and gendered economic inequality. He is an alumnus of CUNY's 2024 Emerging Leader Fellowship for Democracy and Social Justice

Our Board is a volunteer group of at least 5 but not more than 11 individuals who agree to a three-year term. A majority of the Board must be residents of Nelson County. At least one-third of the Board must be residents of low-income neighborhoods, low income community residents, or elected representatives of low-income neighborhood organizations, and no more than one-third can be representatives of the public sector.
