Our Mission
Increasing Affordable Housing Options in Nelson County since 1985
The Nelson County Community Development Foundation was founded in 1985 to foster and promote community development that primarily benefits low- and moderate-income citizens of Nelson County with housing, health, water and wastewater, recreation, education and economic development.
We are a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization governed by a 9-member board of directors. Our major efforts focus on housing. They include administering the Housing Choice Voucher program for a 3-county area, developing affordable homes for rental, providing grants and low-cost loans to families to repair homes or maintain safety, and emergency repair for the Elderly and Disabled citizens of Nelson.
