Renaissance Ridge is being developed as a unique and special intergenerational housing community made up of custom cottages, homes and condominiums. The community will offer a diversity of housing options, certified energy-efficient homes, renewable solar and geothermal energy systems, smart technology, sustainable design, native landscaping, open green spaces and walking trails to help connect the Nellysford community.
The 33-acre site is an ideal location for this community sitting on a rise along the Route 151 Rockfish Valley gateway corridor to the village of Nellysford near many Nelson County tourism and recreation sites. The vision for the community is Livable Sustainability, defined as a development model with an emphasis on the Design, the Environment, and the People.
The Nelson County Community Development Foundation is currently working with the development team at Renaissance Ridge to determine the feasibility of this project. Our investigation to date has included a marketing study, survey, (online) focus groups, and online information sessions. We are also doing preliminary engineering studies and requesting grant funds that will be used to provide funding to make approximately one-third of the units affordable to working families in Nelson. We believe we will have the information so we can make a final decision in the coming weeks.
