Duplex Construction Happening in Roseland
Of course, it started to rain as soon as we got the building permits in hand! And that Piney River soil just does not like to drink – well rainwater anyway. But after the rainy spell which has helped our leaves turn so beautiful this fall, we finally had enough clear weather and cool days to put in the foundations. And the buildings are set to arrive next week on November 4. Maybe we’ll live stream them coming in and getting placed on the foundations by crane! I know we all want to watch, but we also don’t want to be in the way. It’s so exciting to see it happen.
It's also exciting to see folks rise to the challenge and donate to help us meet the cost of building these units. We are still working to match the Perry Foundation grant of $65,000, but we have $10,000 from individuals and another $8,500 from grants. That’s nearly 30% of the match!
I hope you will consider donating to our Roseland Apartments. The Comprehensive Plan data showed that about 80% of Nelsonians think there is a need for affordable housing. Here is your chance to help make that happen! Every dollar counts and is matched by the Perry Foundation. Donating is easy (with Zeffy) and their platform allows us to keep all of the funds raised rather than having to pay a processing fee. They do ask you for a donation toward that fee, so if you do give this way, be intentional when you check out! But we do take checks as well if it’s easier for you!
Your donation will help a family have a home they can afford. We appreciate your generosity.
Thank you!
This brings our total amount raised to $18,675!
