NCCDF To Open Waitlist for New Apartments at St. James Place, Roseland, VA
The online waitlist application is opening on December 4th and will allow applicants to apply at their convenience from any computer or mobile device during the time period that applications are accepted. Applications will receive a confirmation email indicating that the application was received but that does not guarantee placement on the waiting list. Duplex Construction Happening in Roseland
After the rainy spell which has helped our leaves turn so beautiful this fall, we finally had enough clear weather and cool days to put in the foundations. And the buildings are set to arrive next week on November 4. Maybe we’ll live stream them coming in and getting placed on the foundations by crane! I know we all want to watch, but we also don’t want to be in the way. It’s so exciting to see it happen.
A Fall Update on Roseland Apartments
The well rigs are up and water will be flowing soon at The Roseland Apartments. We are expecting to see the crane and the buildings in the middle of October!
NCCDF to Host Free Homebuyer Training Series Starting This Fall
NCCDF will host a free homebuyer training series made up of five different classes led by experts in the field to help first-time buyers navigate the complex path to homeownership. These classes will be held starting September 17th and run through the beginning of November.

Nelson County Volunteer Community Service Awards Granted
The Nelson County Community Development Foundation and the Nelson County Community Fund have announced the 4th annual Bob West - Sarah Jane Stewart Volunteer Community Service Awards. Two recipients, Delores Green, volunteer for Unity in Community; and Kevin Adams, volunteer for the Lovingston Volunteer Fire Department received their awards at the Nelson Center on June 25.

The Nelson County Community Development Foundation (NCCDF) is moving forward with the construction of two affordable duplexes in Roseland, thanks in part to a new $65,000 grant from the Perry Foundation.

NCCDF One of New Youth Philanthropy Council’s 2023-2024 Grant Recipients
We are pleased to be one of two recipients of a grant provided by a new Youth Philanthropy Council in Nelson County. Thanks to Dakota Justus, a recent senior at Nelson County High School, a new philanthropy club has been formed that is allowing students to give back to their community: a new Youth Philanthropy Council—one of multiple in the region.
